Club Spotlight

Attended by RVers from almost every club in the Southern Region, NAARVA members from other Regions and newcomers to the organization, this year’s Southern Region Rally, hosted by Merrimac Sams RV Club, had it all!

The primary planning committee included President, Rose Bell; Pat Walker and Gloria Daniel (Co-Chairpersons); Lynda Daniel (Hospitality); Marshalita Peterson (Activities); Ronnie Daniel (Ads for Souvenir Booklet); and Linwood Bailey (Finance). Thanks to all Merrimac Sams RV Club members for contributing to hosting duties with smiles and helping hands!

There were sunshiny days and cool breezes but also clouds, rain and even a cold night. There was a lot of singing and dancing, but also seminars, games, and even guest speakers. The days and nights were filled with activities but there was also time to enjoy individual preferences and group club gatherings. The Sun Outdoors location had various facilities to explore and activities available to occupy the free time.

People stayed in RV sites or cottages; drove golf carts, motorcycles, rode bikes or even walked. RVers fished, golfed or just relaxed. The food was delectable, and the Blue Bell ice cream was enjoyed by all.

The Rally added thousands of dollars to the local economy of Conway, South Carolina and participants raised more than $1,000 for a local charity in support of their summer reading program.

Thanks to Merrimac Sams RV Club for making this such a memorable event, thanks to the Southern Region Executive Board for their continued support and thanks to everyone for attending!
